Ilya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, the carry for
Team Spirit, might intentionally not have played at full strength to concede one map as a sign of respect to Van "Ame" Chunyu, the carry for
Xtreme Gaming, at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024.
This opinion was expressed by Vladimir "RodjER" Nikogosyan, a former player for
L1ga Team, in a post on his Telegram.
"XG vs Spirit - there's a conspiracy theory that Yatoro might concede a map in honor of Ame)) so I won't be surprised to see 1:1"
The match did indeed end in a draw, and
Xtreme Gaming managed to break
Team Spirit winning streak. On the first map, Yatoro's team gained an advantage in hero drafting, but their opponents made a comeback on the second map.
It's worth noting that Miroslav "Mira" Kolpakov took the blame for the team's failure, stating that his mistake broke the game for the team.
