Xtreme Gaming revealed an unexpected reason for their team’s losses at Riyadh Masters 2024

Lin "Xxs" Jing, the offlaner for Xtreme Gaming, stated differences in region’s meta cost them their losses at the Riyadh Masters 2024. This resulted from Ame roster not accounting for difference between Chinese and European metas.

He discussed this during an interview at Riyadh Masters 2024.

"When we were practicing with teams from China and Southeast Asia, heroes that we had prepared completely lost their value. When we went to Western Europe and played these heroes, they simply destroyed us"

This regional meta discrepancy impact drafting and strategies for Chinese teams as they may not be as effective in international Dota 2 tournaments.

"In Europe there is a definite meta of characters like Sand King, Snapfire and Jakiro. It was new to us because we never made use of them as we did not trust them even though it turned out that these are very strong heroes. So we had to adapt quickly. The problem lies in the drafts and ideas which I feel that the meta of China is extremely outdated”

It should be noted that there was a huge scandal during Riyadh Masters 2024 which suggested Xtreme Gaming founder attempted to convey some instructions for players.
