Former professional Dota 2 player and now
Virtus.pro coach, Sergey "God" Bragin, compared DPC seasons to qualifications for major tournaments. According to God, qualifying in a few days is much better than the month-long DPC league that was previously in place. There is no need for such an extended period to determine the best teams. God shared his thoughts on this in a video on VP's YouTube channel.
We believe that qualifiers in three to four days are better than the 1.5-month-long DPC qualifiers we had before. You don't need that many days to find out who's the best.
Additionally, Bragin discussed how his team adapted to the new patch 7.35b:
The team's adaptation to the patch went well. Everyone played matchmaking with heroes they liked. But I don't agree with all our preferences. However, different team members have different opinions. The most important thing is for players to feel comfortable on their chosen heroes, and we will adjust the hero pool over time.
