Ilya "Kiritych" Ulyanov and Sergey "God" Bragin commented on the results of the
Virtus.pro squad at The International 2024. As the main reasons for the failure of the lineup carry emphasized the lack of normal communication in the team.
The lineup players shared their opinion in an exclusive podcast on the official
Virtus.pro YouTube channel.
"We are ready to keep winning. Hopefully, we'll talk more about Dota than we did at TI qualifiers. I think when you talk less and play more publiks, you don't talk about any worries or emotions. It makes a big difference in team play.
Understandably, there was devastation after the defeat. Everyone worked hard, worked hard and believed that we would accelerate despite the bad start. But nothing changed. It was very painful."
Lineup coach Sergei "God" Bragin believes the reason for the failure was the team's overconfidence.
"I think our team faced an ego problem. When you approach qualifying in the status of the favorite, you think you are the king of the bolt. You're the coolest toad in the well. It was throwing us off and relaxing us. I think you always have to realize your place in the Dota food chain and not think in terms of qualifications."
The team fell to the bottom of the grid after losing the first match to
9 Pandas, after which the team was able to beat
One Move, but lost the next match to
L1ga Team, which finally deprived
Virtus.pro of the opportunity to go to TI13.
Earlier, Vladimir "Maelstorm" Kuzminov noted that
Virtus.pro's roster is on the verge of collapse.
