Valve unexpectedly changed Pudge in the new Dota 2 update

Developers of Dota 2 unexpectedly added a new visual effect for the hero Pudge in the latest game update.

According to the Dota Stepana channel, a dataminer reported it.

Post-patch, the strange cosmetic is now in Dota 2’s files and can be used. The hero’s model becomes much darker when Flesh Heap is used—almost as if it were submerged in shadows.

It should be noted that Valve made no changes to the ability in terms of gameplay; only the way Pudge looks has been altered. This is important because Pudge is one of the most popular heroes in all of Dota 2. It wouldn’t be surprising if Valve added more visual effects for abilities on other heroes with future updates.

Previously, Valve dropped the CrownFall update that focused mostly on cosmetics without patching 7.36.
