Valve responded to mass bans of players in CS2, intervening in the situation

Valve admitted that many players received VAC bans in CS2 by mistake and have started removing restrictions from accounts.

In the notifications about bans being lifted, it is noted that the developers apologize and admit that the system made a mistake. The thing is, the wave of bans affected not only players, but even some CS2 developers.
There was even a curious case where the creator of the Alpine map was banned right in the middle of a match on his own map. However, the unbanning process is not total, and those who were caught smurfing, abusing experience, or using cheats will not be unbanned in the game.
Recall that earlier Valve added live monkeys to CS2 in a new update, which significantly changed the game.
