Patch 7.41 for Dota 2 has been released: facets removed from the game

Dota 2 Patch 7.41

Valve have finally released Patch 7.41, which not only heavily reshaped the Dota 2 meta, but also introduced a global PvE event, which greatly pleased the players.

This was reported on the official website of the game.

Full list of changes

Global Changes

  • Facets have been removed from the game

  • Innate abilities no longer scale with the level of other abilities

  • All innate abilities that previously depended on other skills now either provide fixed bonuses or scale per hero level

  • Abilities that scale with hero level now have a base value and an increment value. Some also have level intervals for scaling

  • Added a UI icon showing which parameters increase with hero level and their current value

  • Some non-innate abilities have also received this UI indicator

  • Abilities that previously scaled “per skill level” now scale “per hero level”

  • This mainly affects heroes reworked in patch 7.40 and Largo

Creeps and Lanes

  • Flagbearer creep experience increased from 57 to 60

  • First additional siege creep now spawns at 30:00 (instead of 35:00)

  • Second additional siege creep spawns at 60:00

  • Lane creep meeting point shifted towards the offlane

  • Offlane creeps are slightly slowed when leaving the base (first seconds)

  • Safelane creeps are slightly accelerated when leaving the base

  • These changes last until 7:30

  • All water currents now grant a maximum of +150 movement speed

Map Objectives

Tormentor

  • Spawn preference has been changed

  • Base shield increased from 2000 to 3000

  • Shield growth per minute increased from 20 to 50

  • Shield regeneration reduced from 40 to 20

  • Regen growth per minute increased from 3.5 to 5

  • Damage reflection reduced from 50% to 30%

  • Reflection radius can now be seen by holding ALT

  • The Shining damage reduced from 60 to 20, but now increases by +2 per minute

  • Now has 25% status resistance

  • No longer deals damage to neutral units

  • Players with Aghanim’s Shard no longer receive 175 gold

  • If all players already have a Shard, reward reduced from 455 to 415 gold

Roshan

  • Preferred pit location has been changed

Wisdom Shrines and Lotus Pools

  • Timer now reverses if heroes from both teams are in the area

  • Experience changed:

    • Was: 280 per interval

    • Now: 200 base + 300 for each subsequent shrine (200/500/800, etc.)

Map Changes

  • Tormentor moved closer to Lotus Pools

  • Tormentor spawn areas moved to low ground

  • Lotus Pools slightly moved closer to the offlane Tier 1 tower

  • Twin Gates slightly moved towards the map edge

  • Watcher between safelane Tier 1 tower and Tormentor repositioned

Result:

  • Tormentor is now on low ground with three stairways

  • Twin Gate area is smaller and also has 3 exits

  • Watcher is now positioned between two stairways

Neutral Camps

  • Ancient camps near river ends downgraded to medium camps

  • Medium camp near offlane gate downgraded to small camp

Lanes and Structures

  • Safelane Tier 1 towers slightly repositioned

  • Radiant small camp moved slightly north

  • Radiant hard camp adjusted (bad ward spot removed)

  • Radiant offlane Tier 2 tower slightly repositioned

  • Ramp near Radiant Tier 1 narrowed and shifted

  • Flooded camp near safelane Tier 2 moved closer to river center

  • Now can evolve only into a hard camp

  • Camp near bounty runes can now evolve into Ancient (twice)

  • Some trees removed from camps

Mechanics Changes

Healing

  • Health Restoration now affects all healing sources

  • Incoming heal amplification now stacks with diminishing returns

  • Abilities now modify Health Restoration directly

As a result:

  • Abilities that only affected regeneration now also affect healing

Lifesteal

  • Now takes into account all damage modifiers

  • Previously, lifesteal was calculated before damage reductions

Now:

  • You can’t heal from damage that wasn’t actually dealt

  • Exception: bonus damage to illusions

Miscellaneous

  • Reflected damage now has an ALT tooltip explanation

  • Reflected damage cannot be reflected again

  • Lifesteal does not work with reflected damage

  • Does not affect Debuff Immune units

  • Units with free movement can now miss attacks on high ground

Kobold Foreman

  • Damage increased from 22–24 to 24–26

Kobold Soldier

  • Damage increased from 20–21 to 22–23

  • Chain Lightning: damage rescaled from 140/180/220/260 to 120/170/220/270

Satyr Tormenter

  • Shockwave: damage rescaled from 160 to 140/160/180/200

Warpine Raider

  • Seed Shot: damage rescaled from 100 to 80/95/110/125

Boglet

  • Arm of the Deep: after casting this ability, all related abilities (Arm of the Deep, Tendrils of the Deep, Congregations of the Deep) on other neutral Boglets, Croakers, and Ancient Croakers within 1200 range are put on a 5-second cooldown

Croaker

  • Tendrils of the Deep: same effect — after casting, all related abilities on nearby neutrals go on a 5-second cooldown

Ancient Croaker

  • Congregations of the Deep: same effect — after casting, all related abilities on nearby neutrals go on a 5-second cooldown

  • Ability radius is now affected by Area of Effect bonuses

Ancient Marshmage

  • Water Bubble (Large): radius is now affected by Area of Effect bonuses

  • When taking damage from a hero or Roshan, all stacks are consumed to create a barrier for 7 seconds that absorbs 120 damage per stack (up to 360)

  • If max stacks were reached at least once, gaining a stack grants +20% Movement Speed for 7 seconds (does not stack)

  • No damage threshold, but does not trigger from Health Loss damage

  • Cannot gain stacks for 3 seconds after taking damage

Crella’s Crozier

  • New Magical Item

  • Requires: Ghost Scepter (1500), Soul Booster (3000), recipe (300). Total cost: 4800

  • Grants: +6 All Attributes, +450 Health, +450 Mana

Active: Rite of Rumusque

  • Turns the wearer into ghost form for 4 seconds (immune to physical damage, cannot attack, takes +30% magic damage)

  • Steals 5% Movement Speed per second from enemies within 900 radius

  • Buff lasts 1.5 seconds, stacks and refreshes

  • No mana cost, cooldown: 20 seconds

  • Effect can be dispelled, but the stealing debuff cannot

Passive: Putrefaction Aura

  • Reduces enemy Health Restoration by 30%

  • During active: increased to 75%, and stolen healing is redirected to the wearer

Essence Distiller

  • New Support Item

  • Requires: Urn of Shadows (825), Chainmail (500), Wizard Hat (250), recipe (200). Total cost: 1775

  • Grants: +1.75 Mana Regen, +3 All Attributes, +6 Armor, +150 Mana

Active: Soul Release

  • On ally: +40 HP regen (lost if attacked by hero or Roshan)

  • On enemy: deals 25 DPS, provides True Sight and vision for 8 seconds

  • Can be cast on ground as a trap

  • Cast range: 1000, cooldown: 10s, no mana cost

  • Gains charges from nearby enemy deaths

  • +1 charge if wearer dies with 0 charges

  • +2 charges if it had 0 and an enemy dies nearby

Specialist’s Array

  • Returning Item

  • Requires: Blade of Alacrity, Broadsword, recipe (550). Total cost: 2550

  • Grants: +20 Damage, +12 Agility

Passive: Splitshot (Ranged only)

  • 30% chance to hit up to 2 additional targets

  • Extra shots: 20 + 75% damage

  • Main shot: 20 + full damage

  • Does not work with similar effects (Gyrocopter, Medusa, Muerta)

Hydra’s Breath

  • New Item

  • Requires: Specialist’s Array, Dragon Lance, Orb of Venom, recipe (1100). Total cost: 5900

  • Grants: +25 Damage, +30 Agility, +15 Strength, +150 Attack Range

Passive: Miasma

  • Applies poison dealing 2.5% max HP per second for 3 seconds

Passive: Polycephaly

  • 30% chance to attack up to 3 targets

  • Works similar to Specialist’s Array

Chen

Removed Summon Convert innate ability

Abilities

Zealot New innate ability with passive and active components. Scales with game time When Chen respawns, a Zealot joins him — a melee creep with the Martyrdom ability Zealot stats match current melee creeps on Chen’s team (including super/mega), but:

  • 125 attack range

  • Base damage increases by +2 per Chen level

  • Base health regen increased from 0.5 to 2.5

  • Does not have Runty attack type

Martyrdom: Target unit ability (500 range) Zealot sacrifices itself, launching a projectile (speed 1000):
