Valve introduced patch 7.38c out of the blue in the midst of the
Team Liquid vs.
Gaimin Gladiators match at FISSURE Universe 4.
The gameplay update interjected the flow of the matches during the competition.
Team Liquid won the first map in what can only be described as a complete massacre of
Gaimin Gladiators. But everything changed with the introduction of patch 7.38c.
While
Team Liquid did stomp
Gaimin Gladiators in the first map, they went on to lose the next two, a lot of folks point to patch 7.38c as the culprit. In the middle of a match for
Gaimin Gladiators, hardly anyone expected a gameplay update to be launched at that time and many were caught off guard by Valve.
Not awfully long ago, Valve made waves when, out of nowhere, they patched 7.38c into Dota 2, which modified Roshan's lair along with a few other locations on the map.
