Valve released a new CS2 update that radically changes boosts

CS2 update

Valve released another update for CS2, introducing major changes to the shooting mechanics while standing on multi-level boosts.

The biggest change affects triple and quadruple boosts. Now, when shooting from these kinds of stacks, weapons lose accuracy and bullets start spreading randomly — almost the same way as while jumping or being mid-air. The changes were especially noticeable for AWP players: the scope now feels “blurry” while shooting from boosts, making shots much harder to land.

To make this happen, the developers added a new console command called weapon_accuracy_stack_boost_limit with the default value set to “2”. The system automatically applies an accuracy penalty if the player is standing on a boost made of two or more teammates.

Besides the shooting changes, Valve also updated AWP animations. The developers adjusted the transition between pulling out the weapon and the idle animation, making the movements look smoother.

The patch also brought several technical fixes. On Cache, bullet impacts and window collision now display correctly. In addition, jumpthrow grenades became more stable, and the preview camera for grenade trajectories was improved.

The developers also fixed multiple bugs for spectators and observer mode: issues with frozen X-ray outlines, damage display problems, and post-processing bugs while switching between players on different maps were all resolved.
