Valve released a major CS2 update right during IEM Cologne 2025. It changed the positions of objects on the Train, Inferno and Overpass maps, fixed various bugs and reworked weapon animations.
A detailed list was published on the official website of the game.
Changes on Train
New cover was added to the A-plant near the Hell train.
New cover was added and the platform on B outside the Z zone was adjusted.
New cover was added in the upper halls of B.
Modified the cover in Ivy.
Removed horizontal stripes from the large doors on the A-site.
The CT platform on the B-side was raised.
The lighting on B was adjusted.
Changes on Inferno
The church windows are now open above the coffins.
The path in the church garden was narrowed near the entrance and widened near the coffins.
The shape of the first crate on the B-plant was changed.
Curbs near mid have been removed.
The light in the arch has been moved to the ceiling.
Visual elements on Banana have been improved for better readability by players.
Objects throughout the map have been adjusted.
Other changes
Fixed cases where players would get stuck in the geometry of surf maps.
All platoon, shooting, weapon reload animations and corresponding sound effects have been updated.
Chicken animations have been reworked.
Fans were happy to see new weapon animations, reloading, as well as map updates. However, the update has led to the game crashing frequently for many users, and some players cannot enter CS2 at all.
Recall that a data miner previously revealed the release date and content of the 2025 Compendium.
