Valve has closed a vulnerability that allowed to view closed matches of pro players, including SW and training. It took the developers less than 24 hours to fix the hack.
Mark “Sikle” Lerman, an analyst at
Team Spirit, said in his Telegram channel.
“Fixed the exploit that allows you to view matches (including closed training matches)”
It is noted that replays and matches of pro players are no longer available for viewing. This comes after a hacker under the nickname Fabio Longo revealed that he easily hacked Dota 2 and opened up access to the stats of cyber athletes to everyone.
Notably, he also revealed data about training matches and KV, which were previously considered inaccessible to outsiders. The hacker himself stated that he did it on purpose to point out a serious vulnerability in the game to the developers.
