Valve found a hint at a possible new anti cheat system in Dota 2. The developers pushed a night update where files with mentions of TrueView were changed - a technology that was previously seen only in Counter-Strike 2.

So far the changes only affected localization however the very fact that TrueView appeared in Dota 2 files already caused discussions on Reddit and how it could affect cheat detection.

What is TrueView? It is a system that replays the client side prediction used by the player during the match. In other words the game runs again how exactly the client calculated movement of players and objects based on server data.

During a match the client constantly predicts actions: movement shooting positions. Then this data is synchronized with the server using smoothing algorithms. TrueView allows to reproduce this exact process not just a server demo.

As a result the demo looks the same way as the player saw it during the game , including all local predictions. Such system could make detecting cheats much easier especially those related to client manipulation. If the anti cheat can compare real behavior with what the player actually saw it opens new ways to detect violations.

At the moment Valve has not made any official statements and it is still unknown if TrueView will appear in Dota 2 any time soon. However the fact that the technology is being tested may indicate preparation for more serious changes in the anti cheat system.
