The company Valve has once again found itself in the center of a legal dispute — a new class action lawsuit has been filed against the developers of Counter-Strike. It was initiated by the law firm Hagens Berman, which claims it represents millions of users, including minors.

This was reported on the website of the legal company.

Lawyers argue that Valve allegedly intentionally designed its platform system in a way that resembles gambling. According to them, players opened cases for entertainment, without realizing that the mechanics could be structured not in their favor, which allowed the company to earn huge profits.

In the lawsuit Hagens Berman demands triple compensation for damages to users, and also insists on banning loot boxes and returning all profits that they believe were obtained unfairly.

Notably, this is already the second lawsuit against Valve in a short period of time. Earlier, on February 26, the Attorney General of New York also filed a case against the company. In her statement she pointed out the risks associated with the growing popularity of gambling-like mechanics in video games.
