Valve have finally impacted the Dota 2 pro scene by changing the draft rules

Patch 7.40, besides a major overhaul of Dota 2 gameplay, also impacted the pro scene, changing the draft rules in Captain's Mode, which is used in official matches.

First ban phase (“first” — team with first pick, “second” — team with second pick”:

• Before: first — second — second — first — second — second — first.

• Now: first — first — second — second — first — second — second.

Third ban phase:

• Before: first — second — second — first.

• Now: first — second — first — second.

Many players welcomed these changes, as they believe the draft phase will now become much more interesting and less predictable. Others think that such a novelty, especially in the middle of a tournament will lead to chaos at DreamLeague Season 27.
