Valve has released a Dota 2 update that changes the end date of the Dota Plus season to December 11, which may hint at the release of patch 7.40 around that time.

“Dota update 06.12. They moved the end of the Dota Plus season to 11.12 this is now the only date we know, so we’ll wait for content then”
The dataminer notes that the main change in this mini-update is simply the shift of the season’s end date. Since the game’s test servers are constantly being updated it’s assumed that some content update for Dota 2 may drop after December 11.
Some community members believe this refers to patch 7.40, while others think the Frostivus event will begin, featuring a new Ancient-revival mechanic.
