The new Ancient revival mechanic can already be tried in Dota 2: step-by-step guide

Anyone can try the new Ancient revival and transformation mechanic in Dota 2. To do this, it’s enough to launch the game in a special test mode. If you follow the instructions correctly, you will see the Ancient being destroyed, transforming into a massive guardian, and moving down the middle lane to fight against the enemy base.

All you need to do is start a lobby with cheats enabled, and then create a new NPC using commands. After that, you can try the combat mechanic yourself.

How to revive the Ancient:

1. Enable cheats in the console using the command: sv_cheats 1.

2. Launch the map through the console using the command: map dota.

3. After entering the game lobby, enter the following commands in order:

   • DOTA_GAMEMODE_BOT_CHALLENGE = 26

   • npc_dota_bot_challenge_ancient_radiant

   • npc_dota_bot_challenge_ancient_dire

   • modifier_bot_challenge_ancient_building

   • modifier_bot_challenge_ancient_npc

   • modifier_dark_reef_mystic_brine_guard

4. After this, you can fight alongside your guardian against the revived enemy base.
