Dota 2 fans have reached out to Valve, urging them to address the prize pool situation for The International 2024 by either bringing back the Battle Pass or increasing contributions to the tournament. Failure to do so might lead to a repeat of last year's situation with an incredibly low prize pool.

This topic is gaining popularity on Reddit, where a "rescue" plan for The International Dota 2 Championship has been posted.

The discussion's author suggests that Valve should return to releasing Battle Passes, as they did before 2023, to boost the prize pool. Another proposal is to release the Compendium 2024 but adjust the contributions from 25% to 75% in favor of esports athletes. This allegedly could prevent a situation like The International 2023, where the prize pool was one of the lowest in the game's history.

However, opinions in the comments are divided. Many Reddit users note that the majority of Dota 2 players are not inclined to support the pro scene. Moreover, they don't care whether any contributions from the Battle Pass go to The International 2024, as they buy it for the Arcana and cosmetic items, not to support esports.

All of this may indicate serious issues with fan interest in TI13. If Valve doesn't intervene, The International Dota 2 Championship could lose its authority and be overshadowed by Riyadh Masters 2024. According to unconfirmed reports, this year's tournament in Riyadh might feature a record-breaking prize pool of several tens of millions of dollars.

It's worth noting that Valve has already changed the format of The International 2024, altering the number of participants and the system for issuing direct invitations to the tournament.
