Valve has announced a series of major changes using verses, which likely pertain to the new global patch. The update is planned to include not only the start of the holiday event Frostivus 2023 but also several significant gameplay changes, as hinted at by the developers on the official Dota 2 website.
More information has been obtained by dataminers. The Telegram channel DOTA_DM published more detailed changes and what players can expect in the new Dota 2 update.

New items will be introduced in the game
According to dataminers and developer hints, at least three new items or sets will be added to the game. The names are already known, but it's possible that this is only part of the list.
New items in Dota 2:
Nemesis Curse
Whisper of the Dread
Moonlight Tiara
Attributes of items in the game will be changed
Several Dota 2 items will be buffed or nerfed in the upcoming Valve update. At least three items/sets in the game will be affected.
Items to be balanced:
Orb Of Corrosion
Arcane Boots
Bloodthorn
Several items will be removed from the game
It may come as a surprise to many players that Valve has decided to remove a considerable number of items from the game. This change will significantly alter the current meta and potentially break many hero builds.
Items to be removed from Dota 2:
Ring Of Aquila
Titan Sliver
Penta Edged Sword
Enchanted Quiver
Quickening Charm
Quarterstaff
Roshan and Ancients will get new abilities
One of the main surprises is that mini-bosses like Roshan and the Ancients will also change and gain a set of new abilities. This could make their elimination during matches much more challenging and make the loot much more valuable.

Hero balancing in Dota 2 new patch
Most likely, hero attributes and abilities will also undergo changes in the new Dota 2 patch. These changes are likely to be global, fundamentally altering the current meta. It's possible that popular heroes will receive nerfs, while less-picked heroes may get buffs from the developers.
Frostivus event
Judging by Valve's announcement, the holiday event Frostivus 2023 will soon begin in the game. While there are few details available, it seems that Dota 2 will feature new quests during the event, allowing players to earn thematic rewards such as new skins and couriers. Winter-themed arcanas for heroes may also be introduced, along with a festive treasure chest.
