Valve banned over 75,000 Dota 2 accounts caught smurfing, breaking rules, boosting, and wintrading right after the release of the 2025 Compendium.
This was reported on Wykrhm Reddy's X (Twitter) page:
"To make the TI season more enjoyable, over 75,000 smurfs, win traders and other bad actors have been BANNED!! BOOM!! GONE!! JUST LIKE THAT!! GG"
According to him, Valve wanted to make matchmaking more comfortable for players, so they carried out a wave of bans. It is worth noting that many fans of the game have long asked Valve to clean up, and the developers listened to the Dota 2 community.
