Valve added two new maps in Dota 2: a new mode might appear

Two new maps were found in Dota 2 files, which might be used for a future event with living Thrones.

This was reported by Mark “Sikle” Lerman in his Telegram channel

“Two new maps were added: dota_mid and dota_keen. Both maps are placeholders for a possible event with Thrones (hopefully) or just for mid practice and -aram mode. It’s hard to say for sure. About the Thrones idea: because earlier Thrones themselves were added, and the map has only mid, which is convenient for a brawl

The dota_keen map cannot be created - its broken and maybe was even added by mistake. A working version can be launched through console: map dota_mid. Also notable that the dota_crownfall file was updated too”

Sikle thinks that dota_keen is just a placeholder and was added by mistake, while dota_mid could be used for a new mode or an event with living Thrones. The idea is that with the new mechanic Thrones would come to life and go fight on mid, and on the new map there is only the central lane.

Also the analyst noted that the Crownfall file was updated, which indirectly hints at a possible upcoming event or continuation of last year event.
