David “MoonMeander” Tan said that
Tundra Esports players had only an hour to choose the best candidate to replace Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon. The team settled on Tobias “Tobi” Büchner, as the player had previously performed well with
Team Liquid.
The player announced this on Twitch.
“We had one hour to choose a stand-in. In the last couple of minutes, we decided to take Tobi because we saw him in
Team Liquid.”
It is worth noting that
Tundra Esports announced the replacement for The International 2025 due to visa issues with Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon less than a week before the start of the tournament. Tobias “Tobi” Buchner replaced Aiden “Insania” Sarkoi on
Team Liquid at FISSURE Universe 5 due to health issues with the main player.
Earlier, Neta “33” Shapira said that Tobias “Tobi” Büchner began training with
Tundra Esports players just 15 minutes after his candidacy was approved.
