Matthew “Whitemon” Filmon, who plays supporting roles at Tundra Esports, was caught using a smoke bug while playing during the ESL One Raleigh qualifiers. This however puts the team at risk for disqualification as ESL has already disqualified NAVI Junior for the same bug.

The moment that highlights the rule violation was shared on Reddit.

“This video shows a Tundra Esports player purposefully checking to see if opponents have used the Smoke. You can watch the replay yourself. Maybe they should also be kicked from the tournament? Of course you can say that it was only once (you have to count) but it is not written in the ESL rules that you can use bugs once and not twice”

Pointing towards the discussion the author stated that ESL should take some action since rules do not set a limit on how many times bugs can be used. Some others laughed, saying ESL might find themselves in a situation where they have to disqualify all the teams since there have been many rosters who have used this bug during Dota 2 matches.

Dota 2 fans however argue that the same abuse by NAVI Junior was caught leading to their disqualification, thus putting ESL in a tough position of tackling this issue and potentially pointing out disqualification for Tundra Esports,

Nonetheless, both ESL and Whitemon opted to remain silent about the happenings, and it is still unknown whether the squad will face any punishment.

No one appears to have an issue if Denis “Larl” Sigitov used the bug during the qualifiers of ESL One Raleigh.
