Tournament operator ESL has banned teams from insulting opponents in team chat.
The changes to the tournament rules are available on the organization’s official website.
According to the updated rules, participants are no longer permitted to use any discriminatory remarks directed at opponents in internal team communications, regardless of their nature.
Furthermore, if a team confirms its participation in a tournament and then withdraws, it will be required to reimburse the costs associated with finding and bringing in a replacement. Compensation covers not only the cost of airline tickets but also any other organizational expenses necessary for the new team’s participation.
The regulations also now stipulate that the right to receive prize money is permanently forfeited if a player or team fails to provide the required tax and payment documents within 18 months.
In addition, participants are prohibited from leaving the playing area to use the restroom or for any other reasons not related to extraordinary circumstances, unless a corresponding exception has been agreed upon in advance with the organizers via email before the start of the tournament. The only exception to this rule is the need for emergency medical care.
