TORONTOTOKYO surprised fans with his explanation for his failure: player's statement

Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek responded to the wave of fan hate by stating that it wasn't him playing poorly on Phoenix, but rather the games being too challenging at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024.

The bold statement was made during the support player's live stream on Twitch.

"I play Phoenix better than anyone in the world, just so you know. The game was just too difficult"

Fans' grievances towards TORONTOTOKYO revolved around his performance on Phoenix during the third map of the match against Team Liquid. Partly due to the pro player's inability to effectively use the ultimate during team fights, BetBoom Team faced defeats that ultimately led to their elimination from the tournament.

It's worth noting that despite the player's claims, Phoenix is not considered his signature hero, so it's not entirely clear why he chose it for such a crucial map.
