Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek stated that
Aurora did not perform poorly at the Riyadh Masters 2025 Dota 2 tournament, but noted that the team could have advanced further in the playoffs by defeating
PARIVISION.
The player made this statement on YouTube.
"It wasn't the worst outcome possible, but we felt confident in our abilities at this tournament. We felt that we could go further. We felt that we could beat
PARIVISION, and then any of the eight teams. This is Dota. Any of the eight teams that remain can beat any other team. They are all more or less equal. I think that's good."
Nevertheless, the esports player believes that all the teams that made it to the playoffs had roughly equal chances of success. The esports player also believes that the Riyadh Masters 2025 lacked a lower bracket, which would have made the event much more interesting for viewers.
“Perhaps it would have been better if the tournament had been in a double-elimination format. I think there would have been a lot of high-quality and interesting Dota for the audience.”
Earlier, the organizers of Clavision Masters: Snow-Ruyi announced that
Aurora had withdrawn from the upcoming tournament.
Team Yandex will replace them on the list of participants.
