Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Khertek recalled how he wrote to Valve support asking for his MMR to be restored for a match, but was denied.
The player discussed the situation on Twitch.
“Back when I lived at home, I had bad internet—this was about 10 years ago. Sometimes the power would go out. There were games where I was winning, we were about to secure the victory, and then my power would cut out.
I remember one game like that. The guys won without me. I logged back in and watched. I was really upset. So I wrote to support: ‘Guys, here’s the situation. Please give me the MMR for the win. I did everything I could to help us win.’ But they told me to go to hell.
How is that possible? They’re supposed to work for the customers, be customer-oriented. Why won’t they give me the MMR?”
According to a statement by Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek, the esports player was experiencing intermittent internet issues at the time, and his connection dropped during a successful match. The player asked the developers to restore his MMR, since he had made a significant contribution to the team’s victory, but Valve denied his request.
As a reminder, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov previously shared his opinion about Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek.
