Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen explained that he really does have an influence on the Dota 2 meta and has introduced at least two heroes there, but he stops playing those builds himself, simply because he gets bored.
The two-time The International champion talked about this on KheZu’s YouTube channel.
“I’ve already had some impact on the pro scene. Mid Venomancer, I think, he’s showing up in matches because of me. Also, some people play Viper following my build. Sometimes I play like 30 games on a hero, I think he’s really good, and then I just stop for no reason. Maybe because of a couple bad games. For example, that happened with Centaur Warrunner. I still think he’s good, but I just don’t feel like playing him anymore”
Topson noted that he truly affects the meta and many started playing
Venomancer and
Viper using his builds. However, he admitted that he can play around 30 matches with a new meta pick, and then gets tired of it, even if the hero still remains really strong.
According to him, that’s exactly what happened with
Centaur Warrunner, who got boring to him, even though the hero is still a very strong mid pick.
Earlier, Topson talked about his big plans and directly answered whether he will return to the Dota 2 pro scene.
