After Largo was released in patch 7.40, one of the first successful builds for a mid Largo was shown by Topson. Judging by the match played, Largo performs very well as an active midlaner focused on tempo, control, and team utility.

Faerie Fire
Mantle Of Intelligence
Circlet
A standard start for stats and comfortable last-hitting.

Bottle — mandatory for mid
Null Talisman

Largo benefits a lot from Bottle due to constant trades and rune control, while Treads provide a good balance of damage and mana.
Core items
Witch Blade — a key item for damage and lane pressure
Orchid Malevolence — allows you to catch mobile heroes and properly execute the ultimate

With
Orchid Malevolence +
Aghanims Scepter, the hero truly starts deciding the outcome of teamfights.

Kaya And Sange — if you need a mix of damage and survivability
Shivas Guard — against physical carries and for additional slows
Refresher Orb — for double ultimate in the late game, if the economy allows
Skill build
Main focus on note / QTE-based abilities
Early level in the ultimate whenever possible
Control and buffs are the priority, damage is secondary
Gameplay
Play actively around runes
Join fights early
Use the ultimate before the teamfight starts
In teamfights, Largo should stay in a safe position — he must not be focused first and ideally should have protection from teammates.
Topson’s build shows that Largo is a tempo mid hero who wins not through raw damage, but through control, buffs, and proper execution of his ultimate. In skilled hands, the hero already looks very strong, but the overall win rate is still around 40% due to the extreme complexity of the new character.
