Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen said that Valve stops filling its games with content very quickly, which is why projects like Deadlock and others are starting to die.
The two-time Dota 2 world champion said this during a stream on Twitch.
"I had hopes for Valve. They make games like Artifact, release them in beta, create hype for a couple of months - and then the game dies, and the studio doesn't care. I think the same thing happened with Deadlock, and it will continue to happen. Remember Dota Underlords. At first, the game was really cool. Valve released content for a while, and then made a few really bad updates. The game died - and that's it, they didn't care anymore"
According to him, developers support games well during beta tests, actively add content, but then literally abandon the project. Topson noted that Deadlock is now in a similar situation: the game was good at the start, but is now rapidly losing its audience.
The eSportsman recalled that a similar situation occurred with Artifact and Dota Underlords - both games were successful and interesting at the start, but were eventually forgotten by the developers.
Recall that earlier,
Team Spirit analyst stated that Frog-Bard would likely become the new hero of Dota 2.
