Frog Bard might become the new Dota 2 hero: Team Spirit analyst found hints

Frog Bard is likely to become a new Dota 2 hero, as indicated by a number of hints in the game code discovered after the release of patch 7.39d.

This was reported by Mark "Sikle" Lerman, an analyst for Team Spirit, in his Telegram channel.

"Frog Bard is a likely candidate for the new hero.

There are prerequisites for this, and more and more hints:

- In a major patch, we received new neutrals - frogs;

- In "Fallen Crown", he accidentally got into the list under the criteria of the tokens "Lust", "City", "Plains". See screenshot 1 - the void to the left of the icon ⚰️

- His ID = 115. The background placeholder for the new hero was introduced 8 months ago. It was removed only today. Usually this is done with confidence in the release.

— Kez has an unused phrase for an unknown hero when killing, but it doesn't specify anything: "Suck my beak, pal!"

— Today they added the runic alphabet, which is even indicated on the merch of this Int. Maybe it's not related, but it could be an ARG or, for example, frog language. See screenshot 3. Thanks to Stepan for the find.

— Earlier I specified that a status effect was added for the hypnosis mechanic (fear, but in your direction). But it could also be for the frog, considering that it will be related to music. In old leaks, suitable skills were featured: toad_battle_croak, toad_tongue.

— When issuing a back from a new set on Quartero, it says that the skull in the item belongs to someone very FAMOUS."

Sikle listed a number of hints, but specifically highlighted that the placeholder for the new hero was removed in patch 7.39d, which, according to him, usually indicates that the hero is approved and ready for release.

He also noted that the glyph language, frog creeps, and sounds related to these creatures may indicate that the new hero will indeed be the Frog Bard.

However, Valve themselves have not made any official announcements yet, and will likely introduce the new hero at The International 2025.
