Tundra Esports midlaner, Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen, shared his thoughts on the transition from the DPC seasons to qualifiers in Dota 2. According to the two-time The International winner, it was the right decision by Valve, and he now finds much more enjoyment in playing Dota than before.
This statement was published on the EzDotes YouTube channel.
I much prefer the current format compared to DPC. There are qualifiers that don't last forever, unlike DPC, which felt like an endless qualification process. I think it's definitely better for the players. It should also be more enjoyable for the viewers, as they can follow their favorite team every day, rather than once a week when they've already forgotten what happened the last time. I definitely enjoy playing more now.
It's worth mentioning that Tundra Esports managed to progress through the open qualifiers of BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai, but in the closed qualifiers, they lost to OG in the finals with a score of 3:0, missing the opportunity to participate in the event.
