Eric “Tofu” Engel said that he is happy to be responsible for
Team Liquid's drafts, but the esports player still needs to understand which heroes are best suited to his new teammates.
The player made this statement on Twitch.
“There's definitely more work now, but I think someone has to take responsibility. I'm fine with doing it. At the same time, it's important to understand what the players are really comfortable with, what they're willing to try, and what their signature heroes are.”
According to Eric “Tofu” Engel, the esports player needs more time to understand which of his teammates play aggressively and which prefer a safer approach to the game.
Team Liquid's new drafter acknowledged that there are currently situations where teammates are not very comfortable playing their chosen heroes, which is why it is important for him to understand the preferences of each team member.
“It takes time to find this out about everyone, as well as to understand who plays more aggressively, who prefers a safe style, and who stays in the back. You need to understand what they really want. Sometimes people say they can play something that's okay for them, and then it turns out that's not what they wanted at all. It's important to just get to know everyone and understand what works best.”
Recall that Eric “tOfu” Engel also spoke about the difficulties of playing on the line with Michael “miCKe” Wu.
