Erik “tOfu” Engel said that his pro career actually started in League of Legends, but in the end he left it and moved to Dota 2 because of the depth of this MOBA and its community.
The
Team Liquid support told this in an interview with TAVERNA.GG.
“In general, Dota is the better game. It’s deeper, there are more nuances. There was a period after I dropped LoL, when my older brother’s friends would gather on Tuesdays to play together. Now some of them have kids, families, serious jobs, but on Tuesdays they still meet. Back then they always played Dota. Sometimes they were missing one player and they would call me. I always picked Pudge or Mirana — my favorite heroes”
tOfu noted that, even though he played a few tournaments in LoL, in the end he started feeling lonely in that game. After that, his friends invited him to play Dota 2, and eventually this game pulled him in even more.
He pointed out that Dota 2 surpasses LoL in depth, especially regarding builds, and you can literally play with any idea you want.
