The top five most popular heroes in Dota 2 history has changed

Invoker has joined the list of Dota 2 heroes who have surpassed the 1 billion matches mark, taking fourth place among the most popular characters in the game’s history.

This is shown by statistics from the DotaBuff portal.

TOP-5 most popular Dota 2 heroes:

• Pudge — 1,520,741,950 matches

• Phantom Assassin — 1,097,960,868 matches

• Sniper — 1,055,097,563 matches

• Invoker — 1,000,063,593 matches

• Juggernaut — 971,482,235 matches

Pudge remains the clear leader, outperforming his competitors by nearly half a billion matches. Many were surprised that Invoker managed to surpass the 1 billion matches milestone, given the hero’s high complexity — even not all pro players are able to use this character effectively.

It is also worth noting that Juggernaut is approaching the list of record holders as well, as he has been one of the best core picks in recent Dota 2 patches.
