The most popular esports game on Twitch has been named, Dota 2 only in third place

Counter-Strike 2 became the most popular esports game on Twitch, significantly outperforming its rivals.

Such statistics were shared by the Esports Charts portal for 2025.

The clear leader of the ranking was CS2, which collected the highest total number of hours watched. According to the portal, tournaments and community broadcasts for CS2 together gained more than 372 million hours of watch time, making Valve’s shooter the main esports content on the platform last year.

Second place in the ranking was taken by League of Legends — competitions in Riot Games’ MOBA attracted around 307 million hours watched. Dota 2 ended up only in third place with a result of 213 million hours, losing to its two main competitors, but still keeping its status as one of the most demanded disciplines on Twitch.

The top five also included Valorant (185.1 million hours watched) and Rainbow Six Siege, which closed the top-5 with a noticeable gap, gaining 34.76 million hours.

As a result, CS2 finally secured its role as the flagship of esports on Twitch, while Dota 2 in 2025 was not able to rise above third place. At the same time, Valve still dominates the esports scene and both of its projects, despite their age remain among the most popular esports games in the world.
