Reddit users noticed the mistake and discovered a possible connection to the tournament organizers.

Users on Reddit pointed out that the English version of Wikipedia claimed the city is sometimes pronounced with two "P"s. A user named Whiteknives noted that this edit was made on September 13, and the IP address belonged to DK-PGLESPORTS, the company organizing TI13. It was speculated that an employee of the company tried to quickly cover up the issue but was caught.
However, it's worth mentioning that the Secret Shop now sells hoodies with the correct spelling of the city where the Dota 2 World Championship is currently being held.
It’s also important to note that fans recently expressed concerns about Valve’s founder's health following his appearance at The International 2024.
