According to preliminary calculations, many players participating in TI12 may earn less money than tournament commentators and hosts.

These thoughts were shared by Alexey "Magician" Slabukhin, former general manager of the HellRaisers organization, on his Telegram channel.

"On average in the market and based on previous information, Casters for TI can earn around $10-15 thousand, and international casters are paid more (2 to 3 times more, but the figures are all approximate due to differences in popularity and taxes). Let's take even the minimum, $15 thousand. Add to this the income from voice lines bundles. On average, it's around $2-3 thousand. In cases like the Ephey voice line, it could be $10 thousand. Again, we take the minimum - $3 thousand. So, the total is:

Earnings for a player who qualified for TI and finished 17-20th - $1,687; 13-16th - $10,125. Earnings for a caster/analyst - from $12-18 thousand minimum"

By these approximate calculations, it turns out that a professional esports player participating in TI12 will earn less than $2,000, while a host or commentator may earn from $10,000 to $18,000.

The International 2023 is scheduled to take place from October 12 to October 29 in Seattle, USA, at the Climate Pledge Arena (formerly known as the KeyArena). The event boasts a prize pool of $1.6 million, with an additional 25% generated from compendium sales.
