The Dota 2 community received the most shameful nomination at the Gonzo Awards

As part of his own Gonzo Awards, Richard Lewis named the Dota 2 community the most annoying fans of 2023.

The well-known journalist shared his thoughts in his personal blog.

Regarding this nomination, Richard Lewis wrote the following:

"Esports is filled with the most pathetic fandoms imaginable. This award is recognition of the efforts of these groups to turn the industry into an unbearable place."

Lewis supports his decision by pointing out that Valve regularly listens to community criticism, releasing updates based on collected opinions. However, pleasing the players is simply impossible, leading to a reduction in prize money at major championships and a general decline in the audience's interest in this discipline.
