ESL One CIS Online Season 1: Open Qualifier started on January 5. By the beginning of the championship, 164 teams were registered on the ESL registration site, but after the formation of the tournament bracket, 109 teams remained.
Due to ignorance of the rules, 55 teams could not take part in the tournament. Kirill «Sunlight» Kachinsky shared his opinion on the start of ESL One open qualifiers. According to him, the main problem with the rosters was the inconsistency of team names on the ESL and Valve websites.
More than 80 teams flew past the qualifiers due to the fact that there are different team names for DPC and ESL. We used Ru on ESL, and English on DPC.
And of course the admins are silent, and most likely they won't add us to the grid.
To all this, Egor «Kelen» Zhabotinskiy said that his team didn`t pass through to the qualifiers due to a typo in the nickname, but the tournament organizers still made an exception for Cascade Esports.
There were 108 registered teams, after the drop they added Cascade Esports (they had a typo (we don't have a typo, we put a nickname from transliteration, as a result, they were added, double standards)
Hxlsey. (Kirill): Team Cascade Esports was admitted by decision of the administration due to the provided evidence of compliance with the participation requirements.
And at the end, Aren «Versuta» Zurabyan commented on the situation, noting that the rules for registration should be simpler.
Well, I'm stuck with this registration, of course, hmm ... I think that for open qualifiers, the registration process should be super simple, because dota players are far from the smartest and most don't even have a manager)
Qualifiers are held from 5 to 12 January. According to their results, 4 teams will win slots for the Lower Division of the tournament.
