Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes that the responsibility for issuing invitations to The International 2026 lies with a single employee who makes decisions on a case-by-case basis for each team.
The
Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.
“As I understand it, it’s just one person deciding who gets an invite and who doesn’t. Judging by which invites were issued.
They can’t deny you an invite, even if you skip all the PGL tournaments. If you win two or three other tournaments, it’s impossible for them not to give you an invite. I think PGL tournaments are simply valued just like any other Tier 1 LAN event, such as ESL One Birmingham. Online tournaments are probably valued less than LANs—even DreamLeague, I think. That’s likely why PARIVISION didn’t get an invite.”
Nevertheless, according to Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, if a team wins several major tournaments, it is practically guaranteed to receive an invitation, but winning online events carries less weight than first place at LAN tournaments, which is why
PARIVISION did not receive an invitation after the team won DreamLeague 29.
As a reminder, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov previously assessed
Team Spirit’s chances of success in the qualifiers for The International 2026.
