Illidan spoke out about playing on a smurf account

Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev said that he does not want to play on a low rating in Dota 2, because he does not respect players who self-assert themselves by defeating weaker opponents.

The Team Spirit streamer shared the relevant opinion on Twitch, responding to a viewer's suggestion to play matchmaking for 5,000 MMR.

“Why would I do that? It doesn't make any sense, I'm not that into this game. It's not even that: someone likes beating people who are weaker than them, it's how they assert themselves. They're lowlifes... Well, it's not my thing.”

Continuing his statement Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev added that even on his own rating he plays better than many of his opponents, because of which he sees no point in playing from a smurf account on a lower rating for the sake of increasing his views.

“Even here, people are knowingly worse than I am playing by a factor of five. Every single one of them is a loser at this rank. And I have to go even lower? Why? What's in it for me? Viewers? I don't want viewers at that price, I don't need it. Everything in life is normal.”

It is worth noting that players on a high rating in Dota 2 face the problem of a long search in matchmaking, which is especially relevant for streamers.

Recall that earlier Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev told why he doubts the success of the closed league of Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok.
