Players from Team Spirit, Team Falcons, as well as participants from other teams with Russian citizenship, may be prevented from competing at The International 2024 in Copenhagen due to a potential update in visa issuance rules by Denmark.

According to local media, Danish Minister of Culture Jacob Engel-Schmidt has made a corresponding call, urging for stricter rules for citizens of this country.

He called for not allowing russian citizens to international competitions, criticizing tournament organizers held at the Royal Arena, where TI13 is scheduled to take place in September. The minister's call was supported by representatives of three political parties.

If visa issuance rules are tightened, it will cause problems for at least four potential teams participating in the Dota 2 World Championship. This is because Team Spirit, Team Falcons, BetBoom Team, and Gaimin Gladiators have players with corresponding citizenship.

There is a possibility that players may be allowed to participate in the championship remotely, but so far, there have been no official comments from organizers on this matter.

It is worth noting that Valve previously announced The International 2024, which will start earlier this year and will be held in Denmark's capital in September.
