Team Spirit streamer Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev has stated that he once raised his Dota 2 ranking a lot, gaining a rank of around 400, after which he dropped to around rank 900 after not playing for three weeks in a row.
The content maker shared the relevant story on Twitch.
“The humor is that I didn't drain my MMR, man. I upped 1,500 MMR before I stopped playing MM. I had 8200 at the moment. I upped 10000 in six months or so. Maybe a little more. I was rank 384, as I remember now. Roughly. Anyway, I was in the neighborhood of 400. I went to do other stuff for three weeks. Three weeks later, I go into dota, I'm at rank 900. I didn't play, I didn't play Dota, just so you understand, I didn't play. And my rank dropped 600.”
Continuing the story of the rank drop, Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev stated that after that incident he stopped seeing the point in playing to raise MMR. The
Team Spirit streamer said that he has no goal to intentionally ruin games, but he has no motivation to play hard in them either.
“And why would I try to try to rack up all the points if.... You know, I'll explain that. Imagine that you have a million dollars are given away just on the street, well, just for fun. Would you go to work for 100 rubles for a suspended license? Yes, I think you won't. And I won't go. That's why I'm sitting here relaxing in Dota. I don't even ruin, I don't even go into this game to ruin. I'm just playing mirror to how I'm being played, that's all. I have no desire to ruin, but I have no desire to try harder.”
To summarize, the
Team Spirit streamer stated that he has long since come to terms with the situation in Dota 2 matchmaking, and because of that he doesn't expect improvements, but would be happy if they happen.
Recall that earlier Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev spoke about the problem that will face the closed league of Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok.
