Ilya "Illidan" Pivtsayev, a streamer for
Team Spirit, expressed dissatisfaction with the team's losses in tournaments and was surprised that they could dominate the map but still lose matches. However, he attributed the team's struggles to the current patch.
The harsh comments were made during Illidan's Twitch stream.
"Spirit… ****, they ****. You noticed with Spirit, there's this **** - like, they’re leading by a lot, but then some **** starts happening, and they just ****"
Despite the harsh statement, he noted that it's too early to talk about the decline of
Team Spirit, at least until The International 2024 is over. Furthermore, he explained the losses of the two-time world champions in tournaments as a result of adjusting to the new patch 7.36c.
"The Spirit era has been ending for three years – it just hasn’t ended. Yes, Riyadh Masters 2024 upset me, and them too, undoubtedly. But what’s the talk if The International isn’t played yet, and the patch is new and strategies aren’t settled. Nothing is settled. Essentially, this patch is really new compared to what was before"
Recall that earlier, the captain of
Team Spirit commented on the unexpected loss of the team in a match against
Virtus.pro at Clavision League Snow Ruyi.
