Ilya “Illidan” Pivtsaev, streamer of
Team Spirit, said that Valve representatives at a meeting with Dota 2 pro-players directly said that the games will never be made under them, although they can influence some aspects.
He revealed this during a broadcast on Twitch.
“We were told so directly by Valve in a meeting with pro-players: the game will never be made for you. You can influence some things, but the game will never be made for you. And I totally agree with that decision from the company”
According to him, the developers explicitly said that cybersports players will be able to influence some aspects of the game, but the game will always be focused on ordinary players. Illidan said that he absolutely agrees with this decision of Valve and considers it correct and useful for Dota 2.
