Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov, the manager of
Team Spirit, said that young players need at least 12 thousand MMR to get into the youth roster of a tier-1 club.
He said this during a Twitch stream, answering players questions.
According to him, if a player is 14 years old, he can already be “put on the list” if he managed to reach 8k MMR by that moment in Dota 2. However, for older players the requirements will be higher, and to get into the academy roster you need around 12–13k MMR.
Korb3n emphasized that the requirements for young players will keep growing because of inflation. So future esports players will have to grind rating even more in the future due to MMR inflation.
It’s also worth mentioning that Korb3n earlier named the main problem of Dota 2, which developers could easily fix.
