Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov stated that there is a severe shortage of competent coaches in modern esports, as most players who could coach teams prefer to engage in streaming.
The
Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.
"What are the most in-demand jobs in esports organizations right now? Well, look, the most in-demand job is a coach. But I think that, unfortunately, you're unlikely to become a coach. Right now, it's the most needed position because there are practically no coaches. And those who could actually be coaches are mostly busy streaming. This has created a big gap."
Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov also mentioned the shortage of video editors, but noted that such specialists are most often sought after for outsourcing, and the downside of such work is the need to be constantly connected and produce a lot of content during LAN tournaments and media days. Nevertheless, the
Team Spirit manager recommends that those who want to find themselves in esports choose a direction for development based on personal preferences rather than demand.
"Video editors are in high demand — literally everywhere. But most often, this is outsourced work. Even if you get hired, you will most likely work in this way: constantly on call, but still remotely. Editors are especially in demand during media days or LANs, when a lot of content needs to be produced.
When it comes to more “classic” positions, there are enough specialists. But again, why do you need my advice? If you want to enter the industry, just do it. If you want to be a manager, try it out. No problem. If you're really good, you'll succeed, even with a large number of applicants and high competition.
You understand how it works. In any field, if you do better than your competitors, you'll become who you want to be. That's all there is to it."
Earlier, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov commented on the insiders' information about the return of Miroslav ‘Mira’ Kolpakov and Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek to
Team Spirit.
