Korb3n comments on the decline in the level of training of pro players in Dota 2

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov believes that, although players of Alan ‘Satanic’ Galliamov's caliber have always been rare on the pro scene, there will be no more stars like Amer “Miracle-” al-Barkawi, as the focus is now on a player's effectiveness in a team rather than their individual skill level.

The Team Spirit manager shared this opinion on Twitch.

"I don't know why. I don't know, there just aren't many new, top players. Listen, let's put it this way, players like Satanic didn't appear very often before either. Well, who do you know in Eastern Europe, yes, in the CIS? Well, RAMZES666, No[o]ne, Yatoro. In short, I don't know, it's just hard. Well, Collapse... In short, there weren't many of them before.

I'll tell you more — even without star players, there are fewer cool players appearing. Although, on the other hand... No, not fewer, if you think about it. I was thinking that, in essence, all the players in PARIVISION are cool, and all the players in Team Spirit are cool. Well, what is a star player anyway? We're talking more about the role in the team rather than some kind of talent, right? The days of talent are over, there will be no more Miracle.

Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov cited the example of the NAVI Junior Dota 2 team, which grew significantly as a team during their time playing together, but because of this, a number of the team members were unable to reach the Tier 1 scene for a long time, despite their high individual skill level, because they were tied to the organization, unlike Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov, who was able to reach the Tier 1 level fairly quickly.

"It's a complicated question, but I think they do appear. You just have to see what the trick is... For example, NAVI Junior also has some very talented players. They've just been playing together for three years. Maybe, maybe... What happened to Alan, for example? They've grown up, they don't care anymore, they're cool and so on. But they played together for how long? Three years, right? Maybe I'm wrong, and it was two years, not three. For some reason, I think it was three. But, in general, what's the point? Why am I saying this? Because Alan played for a year and immediately went to the Tier 1 level. And NAVI Junior could have played too, relatively speaking, gotthejuice and some other players definitely could have. The same pma was replacing the “troika” in NAVI on Clavision a year ago and played well, and so on. But that didn't happen, they continue to play together. Now it's clear that they've grown up, but it really held them back, individual players. That is, individual players could already play in a Tier 1 team, that's all."

Summing up, the Team Spirit manager noted that although new talented players continue to appear in modern Dota 2, the situation on the pro scene itself has changed.

Earlier, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov talked about how he selected players for his roster for BetBoom Streamers Battle 10.
