Team Spirit Manager Cites Main Reason for Replacing Chopper on the CS2 Roster

Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin stated that in the middle of last year, Team Spirit management decided to look for a replacement for Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov due to the CS2 team captain’s severe fatigue and burnout.

The Team Spirit CEO announced this on Telegram.

“In mid-2025, after several conversations with Chopper, it became clear to us that we needed to start looking for a replacement for the captain’s position. Chopper is an amazing player and in-game leader; together with him, we’ve achieved incredible results. However, his level of exhaustion from the schedule and the extent of his burnout simply forced us to consider replacing him.”

According to a statement by Nikita “Cheshir” Chukalin, the head of Team Spirit considers Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov to be a very strong player and captain, thanks to whom the esports organization’s CS2 roster was able to achieve significant results. Nevertheless, Chopper’s severe burnout due to the intense tournament schedule forced the organization to consider a replacement.

As a reminder, Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov previously took on the role of coach for WW Team during the CIS LAN 6 tournament.
