Dmitry «Korb3n» Belov, manager of Team Spirit, said that pro-players earn MMR thanks to good micro and a strong focus on farming in Dota 2 matchmaking.

According to him, normal players can also earn MMR using this method. However, Korb3n noted that not everyone can perform well in micro. He said that you need to learn to play at least three meta heroes, then it will be easier to gain rating.
